DJM 8101
What is so special about carriage DJM 8101
DJM 8101 was a regular everyday carriage that ran on intercity routes to Lithgow, Newcastle, Port Kembla, Kiama & Dapto. It had the regular State Rail Authority Candy front to it.
But in 1990 just after the introduction of CityRail, it also marked the 20th anniversary of Central Coast services. With that, the candy front was changed and re-coloured to the CityRail coloures over the SRA Candy coloures. The side of the car had blue and yellow stripes were installed on 4 carriages. Text was also placed near the drivers window saying 'CityRail celebrates 20 years of double deck services to the Central Coast'. This set was initially targeted V69.
It lasted 19 years with this livery, until 2009 when it was repainted into the standard intercity front like all the other V set Motor carriages.
